Monster Energy's new 'The Doctor' hits SA.

The other day I was lucky enough to cover the launch of Monster Energy's new 'The Doctor' drink in SA. While cans were already available in a few shops and gas station forecourts, this was a bit more of an official affair. The local Monster crew invited the Who's Who of 2-wheeled motorsport in SA to World of Yamaha, the venue chosen for the launch.

There were a couple of reasons for holding the launch at World of Yamaha. Firstly, they took it as an opportunity to reaffirm their partnership with the local riders that they sponsor in SA and also because those local riders use Yamaha on track. Secondly, the powers that be at World of Yamaha pulled some pretty serious strings to make sure that someone forgot to take Rossi's race bike home after the AMID show so that it could be on display at the launch, not just for Rossi fans but all MotoGP fans.

It was a short and sweet evening that saw the new VR46 flowing strong. Not only is it a brilliant looking, textured can, it has an awesome citrus taste to it. It's going to be a guaranteed favourite, I'll bet anything on it.  Fans got the chance to see Rossi's actual race bike up close and pose for pics with it, making it a memorable occasion. It was a pretty wicked event.

COMPETITION TIME...

The guys at Monster SA gave the press (myself included) these limited edition boxed The Doctor cans complete with a Monster Energy USB drive and a Rossi postcard, an awesome piece of kit that will be at home in someone's bar or on display in a Monster / Yamaha / Rossi collection. They're sought after, which is evident from the cash offers I've had already. While I love it, I'm not a collector so if I keep it, it wil sadly not be shown off as it deserves. So I'm giving it away...  It's going to be pretty easy to get your name into the draw for this brilliant Monster Energy memorabilia. Firstly, you need to know a bit about Rossi's Moto GP bike, you need to know Monster Energy and you need to be on Facebook. Drop a mail to chris@chriswall.co.za with the following answers, and don't forget to like my Facebook page.

1. What's the lastest Monster Energy to hit SA shores?
2. What brand of clutch does Rossi's Moto GP bike use?
3. Where was the launch held?
