In October I was commissioned by MB Life, the Mercedes Benz run website, to cover the annual Mercedes Concours d'Elegance held at their Lifestyle Centre in Menlyn. I knew I'd see some pretty cool old cars of course, but there were some really rare and special cars on display. I'd love to add up the value of all the cars but I know it will be an insane amount that most wouldn't believe I'm sure.
My favourite car of the day was a brilliant blue W111-112 model, it just oozes sexiness and wealth. That said, owner Clive Winterstein also had his 300SL on display, it was the most expensive car there. The Club Chairman told me that it's currently valued at just under a million... POUNDS! So yeah, a mere R17 500 000 worth of classic Mercedes, give or take a few hundred thousand. For the basic rundown of the various class winners you can head on over to the MB Life site and check out the details (just a note, the mistake by the car values wasn't from my side). Enjoy the pics...
